The possibilities of infestation and increase of populations density of Sitophilus granarius L., Tribolium confusum Duv., and Anagasta kuchniella Zell. in 9 wheat varieties were investigated. The fecundity, adult longevity and larval development were observed according to wheat crude protein content, TCA protein precipitated, non-protein nitrogen content, falling number values, kernel hardness and bread baking quality. Some wheat properties like kernel hardness, falling number as well as non-protein nitrogen content and rather protein quality than quantity seems to contribute in increased wheat grain resistance against investigated insects
