An experiment on 144 broiler chickens fed starter and finisher diets containing 40 percent of corn meal (C) or 65 percent of ground barley (B) supplemented with Zn-bacitracin (Zn-bac), Avoparcin (Avo) or Avo + Citronic (Cit) was carried out. No adverse effect of B diet on weight gain and feed conversion efficiency in broiler chickens was stated. Significantly lower serum Na, Mg and K content as well as the haemoglobin level in chickens fed the Avo or Avo+Cit supplemented B diet than in C ones was observed. No significant effect of Avo, Zn-bac and Avo+Cit diet supplementation on intestinal microflora content in broiler chickens was obtained
