Study of potential susceptibility to rust under leafspot fungal control of new groundnut varieties in Burkina Faso
1993
Bonkoungou, S.
Rust resistant varieties were evaluated under fungicide treatments to control leafspots to determine their potential susceptibility to rust in Burkina Faso. CarbendazimR was effective against leafspots but did not control rust. IC79 series of varieties confirmed their resistance to rust in the presence of or without leafspots, and (2) RH82, SH462, SH67 and TH series of varieties showed varying degree of susceptibility. The introduction of resistance to rust characteristics did not improve the productivity of the new varieties. Varieties SH67A and SH462C, were the only varieties susceptible to rust that had yields (1.3-1.5 t/ha) comparable to their controls
