Purpose of this experiment was to study the survival number of prawns reared in various type of shelter in the cages. Twenty four hunderd prawns, length of 0.9 to 1.20 cm., were used as sample and randomly put into 12 cages, two hundreds each. Completely randomized design into three treatments were given to the sample; no shelter as the controlled group, with only water hyacinth, Eichhornia crassipes as the second experiment group and Eichhornia crassipes with dried branches as the third. Each group consisting of 4 cages and were given the same kind and amount of artificial food for four months. The results are as follows: 1) The third experimental group has the highest survival number, 162.25 survivors. 2) The difference of the survival number of prawn between each tretment were found significant at 0.01 level.
