1) Biology and Germination of Anthocephalus chinensis seed. : Linear relationship between size of fruiting heads and number of fruits of each seed sources. The average numbers of seeds per fruit were 45,102 and 137 seeds and the numbers of seeds per one gram of seed were 22,593; 28,527 and 27,437 seeds respectively. Stratification of A.chinensis seeds collected from 3 natural seed sources at 4 deg.celsius for 1-2 hours increased the germination percentages. Pretreatment with GA3 (conc.100-1,000 ppm.) did not promote seed germination. Pretreatment with red light stimulated seed germination while far-red and blue light inhibited seed germination. 2) Storage of Melia azedarach seeds.: All fresh fruits of Persian lilac lost viability within one month if stored under normal room temperature. Fresh and dry fruit could be store at 12 deg.celsius for 3 and 6 months respectively. Seeds collected from different seed sources differed remarkably in longevity. Seed storage at 12 deg.celsius has longer viability than those stored at 0 deg.celsius. 3) Effect of saline media on the germination of some eucalypt species : Seed size and seed weight significantly differed among selected Eucalyptus sp. Study on seed coat surfaces with the aid of SEM technique could be used for species identifications. Saline media was also observed to inhibit seed germination. When germinating in 0.5 % and 1 % media, the germination rate was significantly declined. When using germination index, the value on germination index decreased remarkably when higher NaCl concentration was used. Tolerance species were E. brassiana, E. camaldulensis, and E. saligna.
