Ramlal, H. | Harricharan, H. | Hosein, A.
Poultry offals conserting of head, feet and entrails were ensiled with dilute sulphuric acid. The silage was then mixed with wheat middling, sun dried and incorporated into diets at levels of 0, 15 and 30 % by weight. The three diets, calculated to be iso-nitrogenous, were allocated randomly to nine adult male criollo sheep housed individually in metabolism crates to estimate digestibility and intake. The adaptation, intake and collection periods were 10, 7 and 5 days, respectively. The dry matter intakes for the three diets were not significantly different. Digestibilities of dry matter (%) and organic matter (%) for 0 %, 15 %, and 30 % diets were not significantly different. The calculated digestible energy (M Cal/kg Dm) of 3.42, 3.37 and 3.50 for the 0 %, 15 % and 30 % diets, respectively, were not significantly different.
