Impact of nutrition education on mothers' knowledge on hygiene, sanitation and immunization [Bangladesh]

In this study, mothers of selected households of rural village were given education on the importance of personal hygiene, cleanliness, sanitation, safe drinking water, use of toilets and immunization. The aim was to achieve positive behavioural changes of the mothers on these aspects. Mothers knowledge on these topics was evaluated through baseline and follow-up surveys. There were significant improvements in mothers' perception on sanitation and immunization. The results show that nutrition education effectively improves mothers' perception on hygiene, sanitation and immunization which has important implication on health and nutritional status of infants and children.
