ARGININE: A new possibility for estimating the nitrogen needs of Vitis vinifera, L. grapevines
1982
Roumbelaki-Angelaki, A.K. (Agricultural Univ., California (USA))
An attempt was made to describe the role of the amino acid arginine in the nitrogenous metabolism of V. vinifera L. grapevines, as well as the positive correlation between the arginine concentration in nature grape berries and the level of nitrogen fertilization. Therefore, the possibility of using that concentration as a guide for determining the nitrogen needs of grapevines is discussed and its advantages, are compared with other methods.
