In biological substances unpolluted with heavy metals, the background elements usually increase the measurement results by 3 to 10 and more times. The unwanted interference of background elements during Pb, Cd, Co and Ni determination by AAS largely affects the analyses of those biological samples that have low concentrations of these metals and high concentrations of background elements.
