The main point for the estimation of the dairy cattle is its productivity. Drawings show that the best results (Latvian Brown) with the cross combination are those of LB x Ayr x HFB. As to the yield of milk the results increase for 24,99 corresponding to LB purebred. Latvian cattle breeding must be improved by importing bull sperm from abroad. Latvia cannot continue breeding only LB purebred as heterosis plays an important role in traits improvement.
