The results of soil agricultural mapping in 4...5 cycles have been analysed. Soil absorbsion capacity T has been calculated adding the exchange activity H indices to the alkalinity sum S. Soil exchange capacity structure is analysed according to soil type, granulametric composition, pH value and soil organic matter content. The analysis gives a review of the soil properties important for the optimal plant nutrition, soil improvement and the use of agrochemicals without adversely affecting the enviroment. The work provides a general view of Latvia's soil
