The paper presents the need to maintain some level of hygiene in ponds. Several species of fungi were isolated in apparently normal fish in culture facilities. It recommends controlled use of organic animal manure, fertilization and routine disinfection of equipment and facilities with fungicidal and static agents should be adopted
