Five advanced clones of sweetpotato were evaluated in five villages in Kuningan district, West Java during April to August 1993. Local clones were included as check. Farmers and traders were requested to help judge the clones based on their preference. Out of five clones, only clone BIS 175-10 was not selected by the farmers and traders because of its defects. All clones gave a good yield in Bandorasa Wetan which has good soil fertility and sufficient water supply. In Sampora and Manis Lor, lower yields were obtained due to scarce water supply which forced early harvesting at 105 days after planting. All clones except Borobudur-4 had yellow flesh. Root dry matter content was generally more than 20 percent
