Rambutan leaf blight disease which affects seedlings and bearing trees was found to be caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. The fungus is mostly present on leaves. The causal pathogen grows profusely on yeast extract agar and V-5 agar. Pathogenicity test showed that C. gloeosporioides is pathogenic on healthy rambutan seedlings 19 days after inoculation as indicated by blighting of the leaves which started from the top and leaf margins
