In fertile plants, deviations from the normal course of studied processes appeared to be small. In part of the analysed PMCs of infertile plants the meiosis and microsporogenesis were typical of fertile plants and in the rest of the cells were encountered. Certain anomalies took place during the first and second divisions. Significant deviations observed in the stage of pollen grain maturation as well as the ratio of fertile to infertile plants suggest that fertility is determined by two interacting recessive genes in a homozygous condition
