The highest yield of fruit was obtained from plants fertilized with lower rates of nitrogen (30 kg N/ha) applied yearly, and in the treatment where no nitrogen was applied, only farm manure. Higher rates of nitrogen (60 and 90 kg N/ha) decreased the yielding of plants and increased the number of fruit infected by fungus Botritis cinerea. High levels of atmospheric precipitation and a low temperature also induce higher yield of diseased fruit. The influence of nitrogen on the content of organic acids and total sugars was inconsistent
