Weed dynamics in monocultures of winter wheat and triticale

The field experiment was carried out in the years 1988-90. As summer wheat was the forecrop, the first year of growing winter corn can'be treated as the beginning of the monocultures. It has been observed that floristic composition, intensity and weight of weeds per 1 sq. m were greater in winter wheat than in triticale. On the subsequent years of monoculture the number of species of weeds decreased in both kinds of corn while their intensity increased more rapidly in the wheat than in triticale. The applied criteria lead to the conclusion that weed dynamics in the monoculture of wheat is greater than in triticale
