[Influence of a Magnesite Plant in Ropczyce on magnesium and chromium content in agricultural products]
1994
Zrodlowski, Z.
The dust consisted of magnesium (about 40 percent) and chromium (about 3.7 percent). Other metals like zinc, lead, copper and cadmium were found in tracy amount. Magnesite dust pollution lowered soil acidity and indirectly seriously reduced absorption of analysed metals in roots plants. It has been found that magnesium and chromium content in upper layer soil had an evident tendency to decrease as distance from the plant increased. For other metals, changes in their concentration did not depend on the distance from the plant and could be evaluated as normal or slightly higher according to limits
