Effect of liming on crop yields and some chemical properties of differently degraded with sulphur soil (a model study)

The investigation was conducted in lysimetric experiment on the base of selected objects of brown soil which previously had been degrading with differentiated doses of sulphur acid for over 5 years. It was found that liming and complementary fertilization with magnesium did not remove all negative effects of sulphur on the yields of successively grown crops. It reduced soil acidity and the amounts of mobile aluminium; the content of available magnesium increased. On the contrary the ratio of saturation of the sorption complex of soil with Ca, Mg and K has been disturbed
