Healthiness of broad bean seeds cultivated in different regions of Poland

Percentage of seeds with disease symptoms cultivated in four different regions was estimated, and fungi which appeared in these were identified. It was found that the most number of seeds with disease symptoms were in the region of Zamosc (59.0 percent), less number in Bydgoszcz (49.1 percent), and in Lublin (45.3 percent), and the least number in Elblag (31.7 percent). Fungi with the greatest phytopathological significance, Ascochyta fabae and Fusarium spp., occurred more frequently in the Zamosc region where average rainfall levels were the highest, and seldom in the Bydgoszcz region where rainfall levels were the lowest
