The experimental results got between 1987-1990 reveal the necessity of nitrogen fractional applying to irrigated meadows, namely the amount of N60-N90 for each cycle of use. In this way yields over 14,5 t/ha were got on an average of 4 years. There was also stated that applying nitrogen in autumn or in spring does not produce significant differences between these two periods at the first hay harvest. Big yield disparities were obtained when applying nitrogen after the mowing of M1, M2 or M3. It is obvious that the production diminishes much more when the applying of nitrogen fertilizers is made long time after the first mowing. The production repartition shows big fluctuations between the mowing, especially between the first 4 mowings and the last one, whose specific weight in the total annual production is about 10 percent. The nitrogen application in small doses also after the 1st cycle of use gives a more equilibrated production apportionment of yield, but the annual production level is significantly diminished
