Increase of yield per time (60 t/85 days) and surface unit (hectare) with new Sorghum x Sudan grass hybrids, including the medium yearly (Fundulea 500-4/89) and hybrid yearly (Fundulea 500-9/89) at Fundulea (Romania), was possible by enhancing accumulation rate of dry matter at the beginning of growing season, after every cutting, and by obtaining more frequently two wholly stover yields, or a higher yield of fodder and dry matter at second cut when harvest occurred at milk stage. The modest progress at this stage of fodder and quality silage breeding and quality silage breeding of Sorghum x Sudan grass hybrids, experimented in the Fundulea network during 1990-1992, is reflected in a higher grain to stover ratio (40 percent), silage (35-36 percent), high content of crude protein (20 percent), respectively 11 percent, Beta-carotene (1,7 mg/100 g.d.m.), soluble sugar (20 percent) and in reducing the content of hydrocyanic acid (
