The effect of cultivation on the content and composition of the soil organic matter has been studied. Comparative examination of content and stores of humus and nitrogen and of humus group and fractional composition in native and cultivated soil has been carried out to find out general trends of changes in humus status of soils under influence of anthropogenic activity
