Humus formation features in irrigated southern chernozems with green manuring [Russian Federation]

The total content, group composition, molecula-mass characteristics, sorption spectra, components of humic acids peripheral part were under study in the irrigated southern chernozems. With green manure plowed into the soil, the content of "young" humic acids with advanced periphery was found to increase, and this testifies to more active humus compounds neoformation. More active are these processes, when Melilotus alba is grown, and this plant may be recommended as the best green manure for irrigated southern chernozems
