Agribusiness Integration Project for corn, a coordination effort among the government and private sectors to improve the corn production efficiency and hence raise the income of corn growers, was launched in 1985 and is the most successful project among upland crops. The economic analysis of the project revealed that it yielded a 300-400 baht higher profit than that of the traditional style of corn cultivation. The objectives of the present study are to investigate the socio-economic conditions of the project's corn farmers and their problems. The project's corn farmers were not well equipped with the cash to invest in the required modern technology; the project's detail understanding; the state of storing corn produce for sale; the ability to market the product to the distant market; and the opportunity to adopt modern technology to their corn production. Therefore, for the success of the farmers, emphasis should be put on educating the farmers so that they would be confident on participating in the project's activities wisely and thereby yielding the highest returns.
