Investigations regarding efficiency in utilization of genomes in obesity and combined breeds in beef production were carried out on 39 heads of cattle: 19 Local Brown Swiss with weaker production traits, and 20 crossbreds F1 generation, Charolais x Local Brown Swiss in extensive management, feeding and handling, 700 m above sea level. Obtained results, in regard to carcass side mass and quality, percent of the carcass side parts, percent of muscle and fat tissue in three rib cut, muscle and fat tissue relation, also more significant traits of meat quality, indicate a significant contribution of these investigations to solving of problem of yield and beef quality increase in extensive fattening, in mountain regions where meadow - pasture surfaces are dominating.
