The effect of nine strains of Azotobacter chroococcum on two tomato varieties was studied in the research. The efficiency of Azotobacter chroococcum association depended both on the strain and on the variety. On average, strains had the strongest effect on the increase of mass, length and nitrogen content in plants. The capacity of strains to produce growth regulators of indole, phenol and gibberellin type was studied as well. Highly efficient strains synthesized more different growth regulators of indole and gibberellin type and less growth regulators of phenol type.
