[The breeding of new rice varieties "Pyongyang 11" and "Pyongyang 6"]

The rice varieties "Pyongyang 11" and "Pyongyang 6" were bred, being improved from "M-67" by method of multiple crossing between inter-species. Those varieties are resistant to low temperature and bacterial leaf blight and have a lot of grains per ear. Those varieties have higher yield (500-1000 kg/ha) than "Pyongyang 15" in the wide area of west coast region because they have adaptability to the areas and less sensitivity to the soil
