1996
Bambergs, K. (Latvian University of Agriculture, Jelgava (Latvia). Soil Science and Agrochemistry Dept.)
The article sums up the data obtained on granulometric, mineralogical and chemical composition as well as physical properties of soils developed on morainal deposits. Characteristics of granulometric composition of moraine, its regional changes and differences in soil genetic horizons are classified according to the FAO system including chemical composition of moraine, changes in calcites and dolomites content with their granulometric fractions. The investigations have determined the content of cardinal and accessory minerals in moraine, their changes in soil genetic horizons caused by the soil forming processes and weathering of minerals. The data obtained on clay mineral content and its changes in soil forming processes are also given.
