Tribal grouping of Polhill and Raven, (1981) and Nielsen (1992) vary in the included genera for tribe Ingeae and Mimoseae. Polhill and Raven recognize Abarema and Inga for tribe Ingeae, Samanea is included under the big genus albizia. Tribal grouping by Nielsen recognize Samanea, Archidendron and Paraserianthes for tribe Ingeae and included Schleinitzia for tribe Mimoseae. Following the treatment of Nielsen (1992), for Mimosaceae several changes in the number of taxa resulted particularly for Pithcellobium, Acacia, and Albizia. For the genues Acacia, 15 species were published in Blanco's Flora de Filipinas Elmer, leaflet in Phil. Botany, 1907 to 1917, to Merill's Enumeration and different volume of Phil. Jour. Science. Treatment of Nielsen reduced the number of species to 4 and recognized 2 new species, Acacia sulitii Nielsen and A. tawitawiensis Nielsen. For the genus Albizia and 15 species which were proposed under Albizia, Mimosia and Xylia, Nielsen recognized only 9 species and 2 varieties. For the 13 species of Pithecellobium credited to the Philippines and described by Merril, Elmer and Bentham were transferred to Abarema and Zygia by Kostermans (1954), later accomodated to Archidendron by Nielsen (1992). With this treatment only Pithecellobium dulce (Roxb.) Benth was retained and the 12 species were distributed into 8 species, 3 subspecies and 7 varieties
