Eleven fertilizer combinations and a control were used to determine their effects on DMR-2 corn variety grown on a 10-year-old SALT [sloping agricultural land technology] established area at MBRLC [Mindanao Baptist Rural Life Center, Kinuskusan, Bansalan, Davao del Sur, Philippines] Research Station. Generally, corn responded best to a combination of nitrogen and phosphorus (treatments 2, 3, and 10). Phosphorus additions also produced better yield than nitrogen addition alone (treatments 6, 7, and 11 versus treatments 4 and 5). Potassium addition (treatments 8 and 9) gave very little effect which was no better than treatment or the control. Treatment 2 (90-60-60 combination) had a little higher net income compared to treatment 3 (45-30-30 combination) although not statistically significant. However, based on the cost and return analysis, it was best to apply 45-30-0 fertilizer combination than 90-60-60 and 45-30-30 fertilizer applications for economical and sustainability reasons
