Effects of resignation from using insecticides on rapeseed yield

The authors found that resignation from using insecticides on small experimental fields (2000-2500 sq. m) of oilseed rape caused in 1991-93 years yield losses of 28-60 percent (= 10.8-16.5 dt/ha) depending on the insects and diseases intensity and on the weather condition. The losses were mainly due to decreasing number of pods on the plant and lower seed content in the pods. Radical control of the pests fairly decreased infection of rape by fungal diseases
