Yielding and protein quality of winter triticale grain in relation to the nitrogen fertilization

The responses of two winter triticale cultivars, Bolero and Dagro, to different N-fertilization levels (60, 90, 120, 150 kg N/ha) were studied. Both cultivars yielded at similar level. A significant increase in triticale grain yield was obtained with N-doses up to 120 kg/ha, while an increase in total protein and in the ratio: protein yield/fertilizer dose was observed with doses up to 150 kg/ha. With increasing nitrogen fertilization level and distinct decrease in lysine content and biological value of the protein was observed
