Agronomic aspects of growing spring grain crops with undersown plants

It was taken a two-factor design (3 x 3) comprised of three supporting plants (barley, oats, triticale) for experiment and three undersown plants (Italian ryegrass, red clover and their mixture), was used. The results have shown that under conditions of southern Poland, red clover used as an undersown plant increases the yield of spring grain crops (supporting plants) significantly. Of these crops, the combination of spring barley x red clover was the best. Higher grain yields are concurrent with an increased protein content of grain and the quality of the protein is not affected negatively
