There was examined the influence of ploughing over the stubble aftercrops and farm manure on changes in soil reaction (1 M KCl) as well as in the contents of organic C, total and mineral N and available forms of P, K and Mg occurring during vegetation. Liming exerted a significant influence on soil reaction and the contents of P and Mg; its influence on the other components appeared favourable, though statistically unproved. The 0-30 cm soil layer contained more of all components except Mg, whose content was higher in the deeper layer. The highest reaction, as well as the highest content of the components, was found usually in the first and second term of soil sampling, while the lowest in the fourth one
