Conceptual basis and application of optimal physical parameters of soil fertility
1994
Bondarev, A.G.
The problem of physical conditions optimization in terms of soil fertility has some aspects common for all the soils alongside with those, specific for each soil due to soil genesis and man-induced changes. Basic agrophysical parameters have been assessed. Comparison of real and optimal parameters for sod-podzolic soils and chernozems revealed the strongest deviations to be related to humus content, structure status and compaction. Optimal physical properties may be reached in sod-podzolic soils in case of humus content equal to 2.5 - 3.5 % in the arable layer, the same values for chernozems' subtypes range within 4.5 and 7 %. Optimization of physical conditions of soil fertility may be achieved by minimizing the effect of field machines' propelling agents upon the soil to the permissible level
