Impact of climatic changes on water management regimes
1994
Petrovic, P. (Vyskumny Ustav Vodneho Hospodarstva, Bratislava (Slovakia))
Present observation and evaluation of climatic elements shows that long-term climatic changes can already be seen in Slovakia. An overview of growing crop water requirements was found while modelling the potential evapotranspiration using data from hydrometeorological observations on experimental stations of the Water Research Institute, Slovakia. It was estimated that within 40 years of (linearized trends) evaluation the difference between precipitation and potential evapotranspiration is, for the Ziharec station, 90 mm higher than represented by 3 additional rates of supplementary irrigation. A similar situation was also confirmed (from a slightly shorter observation period ) for the Michalovce station (Vychodoslovenska nizina Lowlands). Finally some consequences for water management and proposals for measures needed are mentioned.
