Development of cultural practices and fertilizers program of chrysanthemum for cut flowers
1989
Thanee Kiatpipattanakul
Growing chrysanthemum under net-house could prevent some damages from pests and reduce expenditure for insecticides. Chrysanthemums treated with Ca(NO3)2 + Kletshell + Winica have the most general quality. Nitrogen from Ca(NO3)2 gave higher growth than those from urea. Trace elements from Winica also gave higher growth. Preharvest treated with 50 ppm mepiquat chloride for 4 times and cut chrysanthemum pulsed in 200 ppm physan+5 % sucrose for 18 hours before holding in the tap water could extend the vase life, but no significant from control. Different cultivars of chrysanthemums had different response to the fertilizer treatment and mepiquat chloride treatment was found to cause a higher content of total non-structure carbohydrate.
