Most of natural forest is on high mountain and RFD's forest plantation was established on degraded forest area. The main occupation for forest villagers is farming. They moved and joined the RFD forest project for reason that is landless and landpoor. They grow crops mainly corn, bean and rice and the supplementary occupation in the area is labour employee. Most of forest village member's income were obtained from agriculture crop and wage. In 1985 average family income and expense were 12,319 and 12,097 Baht/family. Most families are still in debt. Considering community as a whole, members of the village moved from other nearby provinces and still hold tight on farmer tradition and custom. The village members, however, had shown interest in acception development measures of the government agencies in anticipation of a positive change of their socio-economic status. Most of the forest members concern with the RFD project and required immediate additional supports especially water for agriculture use, electricity and health center in the forest village. The project so far is quite success in respective of forest conservation and reforestation. Forest village members satisfied with land allocated for hornestread and for cultivation.
