Sudan grass varieties NS-Zora and NS-Srem were studied for productivity and quality of green forage at different dates of sowing and harvesting. NS-Zora and NS-Srem brought satisfactory yields of green forage when grown in the climatic conditions of Vojvodina Province (Yugoslavia), without irrigation. Both varieties displayed good adaptability in several characters, no matter if grown as a main crop, catch crop or double crop. Under normal weather conditions of Vojvodina Province, Sudan grass may be mowed two times if planted in April, and three times irrigation. NS-Zora was more productive than NS-Srem. However, the former variety was somewhat later and it had a lower content of dry matter.
