On the basis of research on eutric cambisol on diluvium (along the main road Beograd-Kragujevac, Serbia (Yugoslavia)) where in the past forty years pesticides or other chemicals have not been applied, it has been determined that: The clay fraction of this soil is made of illite, kaolinite, smectite, vermiculite, interstratified silicates, amorphous matter, and quartz in traces; The data point to the present change of illites into smectite, as well as into vermiculite, while the "multi-phase" smectite component suggests a trend of smectite transformation in this soil; The highest contents of Pb in the clay fraction and total soil were found in the A-horizon; The content of Pb in the clay fraction and in total soil decreases with depth; With increased depth the quantity of Pb in clay fraction increases compared to the quantity of Pb in other fractions of this soil.
