By the method of neutron activation analysis, the metal element content in the seeds of 22 wheat and 3 triticale lines were analyzed. There were 19 metal elements in the seeds, among them 9 were essential nutrient elements. The results showed that there were significant differences among the lines, indicating that the absorption and utilization of nutrient elements in various lines were different. This might be a basis of wheat breeding for efficient utilization of soil nutrition and selecting genotypes
