The reaction of selected winter wheat varieties, prospective for growing in the Czech Republic, to Septoria glume blotch (Stagonospora norodum and Fusarium head blight (Fusarium culmorum) was evaluated. The experiments were carried out in the field and under artificial inoculation. A level of disease infection of individual plant organs, as well as yield loss caused by the infection were studied. Low yield losses due to Stagonospora nodorum were observed in the domestic varieties Hana, Ina, Ilona, Samara, Siria, Alka, like SG-S-411 and foreign varieties CEB 9305 and Trane. In the case of ear infection by Fusarium culmorum the varieties Estica and CEB 9305 exhibited the highest resistance.
