Equations of stand height, diameter and volume depending on stand age and site factors for Estonian state forests (on the basis of 1984-1993 forest inventory data)

Stand variables like total age, average height, diameter, volume of the first layer, origin, site type by E. Lohmus and stand and stand composition by species from data base files of all Estonian state forest districts have been used as initial data for this study. Height, diameter and volume series on age were calculated as averages of data groups by site types, by main species, by origin and by age classes of 5 years. A total of 171 data series has been created. The basic growth function forms a special case of Mitscherlich function. Altogether 9 parameters were estimated to approximate height, diameter and volume series by forest types. Large errors of parameters estimates were found out which indicated existence of relationships between the parameters
