A morphological-bacteriological study about mesenterical lyphatic nodes of clinically healthy 8417 slaughtered pigs from 11 different county slaughterhouses was carried out. 12.1 per cent of the pigs had tuberculous changes. Mycobacteria culture belonging to Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) was isolated from 23.4 per cent of the pigs. As the number of large state farms has been decreasing, mycobacteriosis has descreased, but there is much difference in occurrence between the counties. Diagnostic studies of tuberculosis in suspected pigs, cattle, hens and rabbit were done. The pigs and rabbit with tuberculous changes had mycobacteriosis, hens had tuberculosis. The corresponding changes were not there in cattle, but a mycobacterial culture, isolated from a calf, belonged to a Non-Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (Gen Probe Inc.)
