The experiment was conducted in the green house of Sitiung Experimented Farm from January to May 1992. The experiment was arranged in a Randomized Complete Design with three replications. The purpose of the experiment was to determine the influence of phosphorus fertilizer and animal manure on growth and yield of upland rice in Red Yellow Podzolic soil of Sitiung. The treatments were composed of 0 and 200 kg TSP/ha (0 and 1.0 g/pot), barnyard manure (0, 1, 2, 4 and 8 ton/ha) equivalent of 0, 5, 10, 20 and 40 g/pot, and combinations of both resources. Result showed that the application of 1.0 g TSP/pot combined with 5 g barnyard manure increased the upland rice yield 37.5 percent and application of 1.0 g TSP pot combined with 40 g/pot barnyard manure increased the yield 35.7 percent
