Nine genotypes of mungbean (Vigna radiata L.) viz lines 7-2, 56-2, 562-1, MG-1, BRM-14, line 141 BRM-15, NCM-69 and BRM-96 were evaluated against local check for genetic parameters. Significant differences were observed regarding all the characters studied. Line 562-1 produced taller plants than variety Peshawar local and line BRM-96. Local cultivar started flowering earlier than line BRM-96 whereas the latter completed 80% flowering earlier than the former. Line BRM-96 had more primary branches and pods per plant than the Peshawar local; was also found superior to local check in 1000 grains weight, harvest index, protein contents and took more days to maturity. Line 7-2 had the highest content of protein and line 56-2, the lowest. Line BRM-96 gave the highest grain yield per hectare followed by line BRM-16 and Peshawar local. Number of pods per plant and harvest index had positive correlation with grain yield while days to 1st flowering and plant height had negative correlation with the grain yield.
