Insect pests of maize crop in different localities of Kalam [Pakistan]

The cutworm Agrotis ipsilon (Rott.) and armyworm Mythimna separata (Wlk.) appeared as early and mid season pests, respectively, in six different localities of Kalam Tehsil. The earworm Heliothis armigera (Hb.) and the corn aphid Rhopalosiphum maidis (Fitch) as late pest of maize crop. Biological appearance of the aphids was noted in the six localities. Locality differences were apparent when looking at the seasonal means. The grasshopper Atractomorpha crenulata (Fab.), Gastrimagus sulphureus B.+B. and Calliptamus cephalotes were noted as minor pests of maize crop.
