Morphological characters contributing to the resistance of selected maize cultivars against Atherigona soccata maggots were studied. After a preliminary screening of 20 maize cultivar, a lot of five cultivars, viz., Composite-15, Swat-1, Gouhar, Zia and Sarhad white, were selected for trials. A total of 16 morphological characters of the above cultivars were included in the present study. The effect of these characters on resistance against the insects was measured in terms of percentage of plants that escaped infestation. Four characters were found to be positively correlated to resistance whereas 10 of them were found to be negatively correlated
