Efficiency of soil tillage without mouldboard

In field experiments on grassland loamy soil the effects of 3 tillage methods (1-traditional ploughing+disc harrow+cultivator, 2-deep cultivator+harrow elements, 3-deep cultivator+herbicide application) on soil structure and yielding of winter wheat were studied. Best soil structure (aggregate size distribution) was obtained at traditional tillage (1), however the weed infestation at methods 1 and 2 was relatively high. At method 3 the weed infestation was 4-times lower than at 1 and 2, at grain yields higher by 18% and lowest energy (fuel) inputs for soil tillage
